Miami 2006
So Miami 2006 is in the books. Weather was quite odd this year. It was about 50 degrees on most nights! Plus, it rained on the OM bbq-bummer. Oh well. OM hip hop artists still killed it and gave their all. I think hightlights of the conference were: Bugz in the attic vs. Jazzanova @ Sobe live. Shit was off the hinges....believe this! And Jamie Lidell put on a jaw dropping show. Dude is like a one man electronic soul eating show. The BBE/Rapster poolside joint was fun with jazzy jeff, language, jazzanova, bobbito and others; Music could have been louder there, but noise violations are strictly enforced when it comes to outdoors jawns in Miami. Of course, there was some superficiality and pretentious stuff that always comes along with Miami, you just have to ignore that crap. Missed some cool panels that went on with coldcut, maseo, gilles peterson and more, but I'm trying to hunt down podcast recorded versions of them!
